The Subrata Mukherjee Cup is the most traditional tournament in the history of school football. A few days ago in the Jhargram district under 14 boys, under 17 boys, and under 17 girls categories were played in the premises of Jhargram Kumud Kumari Institution. Manikpara High School (U-14 Team) participated in the 62nd Subroto Cup International Football Tournament-2023, where they won.
Then they went to district level and defeated KATAGANJ G.A.S.HIGH SCHOOL, (NADIA) team. Then they beat Howrah District 6-1 in the semi-final to reach the final. Then did Jhargram district proud by defeating South 24 Parganas 4-1 in the tie-breaker in the final (the score was 2-2 at full-time). Jhargram District managed to secure a ticket to Delhi by winning the under-14 group final.
This time they will represent West Bengal at the national level in the Subrata Cup. Many congratulations to every player of Manikpara High School, every teacher and sports teacher, and coach Nanda Dulal Bhowmik. I hope that there will be better results in Delhi.
