The Indian team is going to play 3 series on the country's soil in the 2023-24 season. The series will be against Australia, England and Afghanistan. BCCI announced the schedule of these 3 series on Tuesday. The Indian team will play 3 ODIs, 5 Test matches and 8 T20 matches in the country. India will play a 3-match ODI series against Australia just before the ODI World Cup. This series is being organized as a preparation for the ODI World Cup. The series will run from 22 to 27 September. 3 ODI matches will be played in Mohali, Indore and Rajkot. Apart from the World Cup, the Indian team will play these 3 ODI matches on the country's soil.
After the ODI World Cup, Australia will play the series again in India. This will be a 5-match T20 series. This series will run from November 23 to December 3. November 23 first match in Visakhapatnam. 26 November second match in Thiruananthapuram. 3rd match in Guwahati on November 28. December 1 fourth T20 match in Nagpur. December 3 fifth and last match in Hyderabad.
Afghanistan will visit India in the beginning of 2024. India-Afghanistan will play a 3-match T20 series. The first match will be played in Mohali on January 11. The second match will be played in Indore on January 14. The third match will be played in Bangalore on January 17.
After the series against Afghanistan, the Indian team will play a 5-match Test series against England at home. The first Test match will start on January 25 in Hyderabad. The second Test match will start on February 2 in Visakhapatnam. The third Test match will start on February 15 in Rajkot. The fourth Test match will start on February 27 in Ranchi. The fifth and final Test match will begin on March 11 in Dharamshala.
Although there are multiple matches in this 3 series in Mohali, Indore, Rajkot, Visakhapatnam, no match was given in Eden Gardens. As a result, the cricket lovers of Bengal are disappointed. They will get a chance to watch the ODI World Cup match at Eden. But after a few months no more international matches were held in Eden.
The T20 World Cup will be held in West Indies and USA in 2024. Like the ODI World Cup, the Indian team will prepare for the T20 World Cup by playing a series against Australia. After the first T20 World Cup in 2007, India did not get final success in this tournament. Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav aim to become T20 World Cup champion next year.
